Light Work's July 2004 Artist-in-Residence: Myra Greene
Light Work E-Newsletter #5

Since 1976, nearly 300 artists have participated in Light Work's Artist-in-Residence program. Each year Light Work invites 12-15 artists to participate in this program. Residencies are of a month-long duration with 24-hour access to our studio facility in the Robert B. Menschel Media Center at Syracuse University, allowing each artist the opportunity to focus on creating new work. June 2004 Artists-in-Residence:

Matthew Swarts (Amherst, MA) and Scott Townsend (Raleigh, NC)

Light Work introduces its new artist-in-residence for the month of July, Myra Greene. In applying for the residency, Greene submitted slides from her last completed project entitled, "The Beautiful Ones," where she transformed images of her family and pop stars. While at Light Work, Greene plans to work on creating an artist book based on a new project working with self-portrait images. Greene resides in Rochester, NY where she is an assistant professor of photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
