Light Work E-Newsletter #10
December 21, 2004

Happy Holidays!

Light Work would like to thank its friends and supporters for another successful year. And what a year it has been.

Our current show, An Exhibition About a Book: Berlin in the Time of the Wall completes a string of inspiring exhibitions. An Exhibition About a Book celebrates the twenty-year project by John Gossage and the publication of his 400-page monograph. The exhibition will remain on view through December 31. Other exhibitions this year were A Map of Latin American Dreams by MartÌn Weber, EarthWords by Judy Natal, and A Conversation with the World by Lonnie Graham. Each of these exhibitions reflect the artists' unique vision in describing, redefining, or in Natal's case, creating the world around them. Exhibition descriptions are still available online and, far expanded, in our exhibition catalogues, Contact Sheet.

Every year Light Work invites an exceptionally talented group of emerging artists to come to our state-of-the-art facilities as part of our Artist-in-Residence program. This year's line-up included Wayne Barrar, Myra Greene, Alex Harsley, Stephen Hughes, Susan Lipper, Jonathan Moller, Bharti Parmar, Pipo, Tone Stockenstr–m, Matt Swarts, and Scott Townsend. We will publish work by all of these artists in the next Light Work Annual. Work by these artists can also be found in our Permanent Collection, which can be browsed online.

Looking ahead, we anticipate a colorful and diverse year of exhibitions that will be kicked off with the exhibition Meanwhile by ZoÎ Sheehan SaldaÒa. Her mixed media art combines photography with cross stitching, sewing, embroidery and more. ZoÎ's show will be followed by the exhibition Artist Work - Artist Run: CEPA Gallery at Thirty.

Thank you again to all who have supported us.
