Stop by Light Work tonight for a reception event to celebrate the Intermissions and Light Work Grants exhibitions.
The event will feature a live video and music premiere of a
collaboration between Barry Anderson and local composer Andrew
Waggoner, followed by Anderson's lecture beginning at 6:00pm. |

Meet the Musicians
In conjunction with the gallery reception and lecture for Intermissions,
the innovative art exhibition and related programs featuring the video
and photographic art of Kansas City artist Barry Anderson, Light Work
will premiere a musical/video collaboration, titled Genome of the Soul, between Anderson and local composer Andrew Waggoner at the event.
Waggoner (violin), as well as the rest of the
musicians in the Open End Ensemble (Nurit Pacht, violin; Tawnya Popoff,
viola; and Caroline Stinson, cello), will also be on hand at the
reception so keep an eye out for them!

Karen Brummund Installation
Tonight we also celebrate the Light Work Grants
exhibition, featuring work by Karen Brummund, Laura A. Guth, and
Stephen Shaner. Brummund's installation on the front of the Robert B.
Menschel Media Center (which houses Light Work and Community Darkrooms)
is on view already, and will be up through tonight's event. |
