Description

All My Life for Sale combines classic American passion for the road with the current obsession with Internet consumption. One day John Freyer decided to sell everything he owned on the Internet, from an unopened box of taco shells, to a half bottle of mouthwash, to almost all of his clothes. After surprisingly finding buyers for nearly all of his possessions on eBay, he set out on a journey to visit his one-time possessions in their new homes. The book was featured on MTV and National Public Radio, and reviewed in the London Observer and The New Yorker Magazine.

Freyer received his master’s degree in Photography from the University of Iowa. His work has received international attention, and items sold during his All My Life For Sale project are included in collections at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the University of Iowa Museum of Art, among others.
