Snowbound is a signed, one hundred twelve page cloth-bound book that includes fifty four-color photo reproductions. Lisa M. Robinson has spent the past five years photographing this series, seeking out snowstorms to capture images of man-made objects sunken in snow. The snowscapes look beyond the obvious photographs of snow, depicting different forms of this primary element-ice, snow, fog and water.
Robinson participated in Light Work’s Artist-in-Residence program in 2006, and her work is part of the permanent collections of Light Work; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego; and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she has received various awards including a Fulbright Fellowship. She was recently named the Evelyn Stefansson Nef Fellow at Macdowell Colony and was nominated for a Louis Comfort Tiffany Grant. Robinson lives in Jackson Heights, NY.
