The photographer Albert Chong was born in Kingston, Jamaica of African and Chinese ancestry. His work trys to make peace with these two divergent cultures. His photography has been exhibited widely including the Ansel Adams Center for Photography in San Francisco; The First Johannesburg Biennial, South Africa; the Cleveland Museum of Art; the Havana Biennial in Cuba; and the Center for Fine Arts in Miami. His work is represented by Porter Troupe Gallery in San Diego, Martha Schneider Gallery in Chicago, Throckmorton Fine Arts in New York, Kiang Gallery in Atlanta, and Chelsea Galleries in Jamaica. A book of his photographs, Ancestral Dialogues: The Photographs of Albert Chong, has been published by the Friends of Photography in San Francisco.
