Join Light Work’s Urban Video Project for a series of wonderful Community Night pop-up exhibitions and events on the plaza this spring!

Times for all programs are dusk to 11pm unless otherwise stated.

These events are FREE & OPEN to the public.

May 3-5

The Living Room Conversation 

Presented by a cross-disciplinary group of Syracuse University students in the School of Architecture, the School of Design, and the School of Art, The Living Room Conversation is a collaborative exploration of what intersectionality and inclusion look like in public space. A video loop of work and a multi-channel video sculpture created by students will be on view in the plaza.

TruePrice: Art & Ecology 

On Sunday May 9, the Canary Lab class “Art & Ecology: The Climate Crisis” will be holding a reception at the Everson Museum’s plaza for an exhibition of works made during this semester. Food and beverages will be on offer from 8-9:30pm. All works will be presented in the form of a video loop.

they came after dreams: PAL Project Student Exhibition

The Photography and Literacy (PAL) Project and Northside Learning Center present the pop-up exhibition, they came after dreams.  This exhibition is a culmination of PAL Project’s photography and writing workshop hosted with youth participants from Northside Learning Center. PAL encourages use of photography and writing as excavational tools into their inner thoughts and dreams. Each student receives a camera, journal, and art supplies and is guided through lessons by mentors from Syracuse University. Exhibiting artists include  Saadia Adam, Maryam Adam, Mustrah Adams, Fatma Mohamed, Fatima Mumin, Balqisa Mumin, Bisharo Rafi, Rose Tantine, and Hassan Yerow.

Syracuse University Graduating Photo Student Exhibition

A program of photo and video work by this year’s Art Photography graduating BFA and MFA students in a one-night-only exhibition.

May 30

Syracuse University MFA Film/Video Screening

A one-night-only program of new moving image work by Department of Transmedia MFA students.
