Architecture & Occupancy: School of Architecture Student Showcase
Tuesday, April 28 | 8 p.m.
A one-hour program of original video works from “Architecture and Occupancy,” a research architecture studio course at Syracuse University School of Architecture that engages spatial politics, public space, urbanism, displacement, gentrification, and climate change through time-based media. Featured works: Ode to Dissipation; Listening to Vitalla Temple; Urban Underground: Here, Gone, Elsewhere; Water Towns and Sesame Seeds; [Why]te Cube; and It’s Been Three Years and I Feel Numb. These works place student voices directly into public discourse, projecting onto a civic landmark at a scale rarely available to emerging architects. The plaza becomes a rare pedagogical opportunity: a live encounter between student work and the public, opening conversations that extend well beyond the classroom.
