Clifford Prince King

Clifford Prince King (b. 1993) is a self-taught photographer and filmmaker who makes his home in Los Angeles, CA. King documents his intimate relationships in traditional, everyday settings as commentary on his experiences as a queer Black man. Throughout the last few years, King has made his personal, private practices public and engaging to audiences by means of desire, communion, and subtle voyeurism. His work has been on view at the F*ck Art at the Museum of Sex (New York City), Hamburg Triennial of Photography, and New Queer Photography at Freiraum für Fotographie (Berlin). Galleries hosting his solo exhibitions include the Carolyn Campagna Kleefield Contemporary Art Museum (Long Beach, 2022) and Gordon Robichaux (New York City, 2023). TIS Books released his first monograph in 2022. Public collections holding his work include the Hammer Museum, ICA Miami, Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Arts, Minneapolis Institute of Art, and the Studio Museum in Harlem.
