Robin Crookall

Robin Crookall (b. 1985) is an artist whose work encompasses sculpture and photography. By collaging various elements, only some of them factual, she creates uncanny images of scenes employing small-scale architectural models.
Crookall was a NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in photography in 2019 and a finalist in the The Print Centers’ 95th Annual International Competition in 2021. Solo exhibitions include Real Art Ways in Hartford, CT, in 2021 and Penumbra Foundation in New York City (part of a residency) in 2020. Participation in group exhibitions includes Art Basel in Miami, Candela Gallery in Virginia, Field Projects in New York City, Friesen Gallery in Seattle Gallery 4Culture in Seattle, and Headlands Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
Her work has appeared in Arts in Square (2022), Indiefoto (2016), Musée Magazine (2021), Real Art Ways Zine (2021), The Seattle Times (2012), and Vast Magazine (2021).
Crookall received her BFA in ceramics from the University of Washington, Seattle, studied ceramics as a post-baccalaureate at the University of Montana, Missoula, and received an MFA from New York University. She was born in Utah and lives in Brooklyn.
