Based between New York City and my hometown of Baltimore, I am a documentary artist and photographer with a darkroom based practice. I archive unrepresented dispositions and spaces that reflect my identity and experiences as a Black and Trinidadian American man. I build relationships with family, land, people I meet, and ultimately myself to make work that expands and challenges mass mediated imagery and narratives of African Diasporic life. I combine aesthetics of documentary, theatre, and magical realism to make self portraits that visualize catharses brought about by my meditations on identity, masculinity, history, and spirituality. I received an art degree with a concentration in video from Pace University in May of 2020, and took classes at the International Center of Photography from 2018-2020. In 2023 I began using a personal darkroom where I expanded my knowledge of traditional darkroom techniques and love for making silver prints.
