For the workshop:

Movement workshop participants will need access to a small amount of clear space (approx. 4 ft²) and should wear clothes that do not restrict movement. A modified version of movements can be done in a seated position. Automatically generated live transcription will be available for the movement workshop without prior request.

For the artist talk:

ADA-compliant CART services will be available for the public artist talk without prior request.

About the Presenters

---

Steffani Jemison is an interdisciplinary artist whose work is informed by deep research and guided by formal experimentation. Her work has been shown around the world, including at the New Museum in New York, in a solo show at Mass MoCA in 2017, and in the 2019 Whitney Biennial. She has participated in artist residencies at the Core Program at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Project Row Houses also in Houston, at the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She is a past fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University and  received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2020. She is currently an Assistant Professor in Media at Rutgers University. Artist’s website

Born and  raised in Harlem, New York, Alexis Page competed for the United States as an elite rhythmic gymnast. After retiring she attended Hunter College, where she graduated with a degree in Human Biology. She is currently a program coordinator and head coach at the Wendy Hilliard Gymnastics Foundation.
