Matt Eich is American-born photographic essayist. The premise of his work involves cataloguing the American experience. Eich’s clients include National Geographic, Harper’s, TIME, Mother Jones, GQ, Apple, Tiffany & Company, and many more. His photographs have been exhibited in group and solo shows internationally and his prints and books are held in the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, The Portland Art Museum, The Indie Photobook Library, The New York Public Library and in numerous private collections. Eich’s projects have received grant support from the Aaron Siskind Foundation, NPPA, ShootQ/Pictage, The Alexia Foundation, and National Geographic Magazine. Eich currently lives in Norfolk, Virginia with his wife and two children. He will spend his residency printing an exhibition for The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art while editing eight years worth of work into book form.
